Gratitude Is The Best Attitude

Gratitude Is The Best Attitude

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful.  It is good to give thanks, and to do so at all time. When counting your blessings, be sure to give thanks for what God has done for you and for whom He is. Having an attitude of gratitude will prevent negative emotions, which are generally toxic. Let’s take a look at some of the importance of gratitude;

  1. Gratitude opens the door for more.

The Lord Jesus on a certain day encountered ten lepers who asked Him to have mercy on them. In response, He said to them, "…Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed" (Luke 17:14).Notice that Jesus didn’t tell the lepers, "You’re healed." He just gave them an instruction, and they went in obedience to the Word. As they went, they were cleansed! Then one of the lepers, who realized he had been healed, returned to give glory to God and the Lord answering, said, "...Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made you whole" (Luke 17:17-19). In giving God thanks, you receive more than healing; you receive wholeness! Some people fail to notice the supernatural things God does for them, and therefore fail to give Him thanks. Remember, they don’t have to be spectacular to be supernatural. Your ability to recognize His blessings in your life, and glorify Him as a result, will take you from "being healed" to "being made whole." As our text reveals, the Samaritan that returned to give thanks received much more than healing; he was made whole. Everything he had lost because of the leprosy was restored to him. This is particularly significant because leprosy eats up the victim’s extremities and leaves scars. The fact that someone is healed of it doesn’t mean he’d have his affected body parts restored. But the grateful Samaritan positioned himself for
more when he returned to give the Lord thanks. In giving God thanks, you open the door for more miracles and blessings in your life.

  1. Gratitude leads to Joy.

Gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationshipsJoy comes with gratitude. Everything changes when your heart is filled with thanksgiving and gratefulness. Are you the kind of person that is constantly complaining about this and that? Complaining will drain your Joy and Strength. A person with an attitude of gratitude cannot be held captive by the spirit of despair, frustration, or sadnessPeople who are ungrateful are always grumpy. God wants you to be joyful in the midst of every circumstance. The more you are grateful, the happier you are.

  1. Gratitude pleases God.

God desires your praise and he prefers it to animal sacrifices. Ps 69:30-31. He is pleased when you are thankful.
